OREANDA-NEWS. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Directors of Calyk Holding Ahmet Calyk.

The current state and prospects of partnership in various fields, including in the key sector of the Turkmen economy - the energy sector, were discussed during the meeting. In this regard, the businessman reported to the Turkmen leader on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader's instructions and progress in implementing the projects aimed at reliable electricity to the Turkmen capital and the modernization of the power grid of the country.

It was noted that the most ambitious energy project in the history of Turkmenistan is to be implemented in three phases. Under the project dozens of substations are to be built and connected to the power grid of the country. In accordance with the Resolutions issued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in April and July of this year, the Turkish company Calyk Energy is to build three small gas turbine power plants in Ahal, Lebap and Mary Velayat and two gas-turbine power plants near

Ashgabat - Ak Bugdai Etrap and Derveze Etrap in Ahal Velayat.

The projects designed by the Turkish company to modernize the health care system of Turkmenistan were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration during the meeting. These include the buildings of the Morphology Centre, a multifield hospital for 700 patients, the Experimental and Production Nutrition Centre, the Neurology Hospital, the Centre for Prevention of dangerous infectious diseases, the Training and Research Centre of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry . After considering the projects, the Turkmen leader instructed Vice Premiers Sh. Durdylyev and S. Toilyev to choose the locations for these facilities.

Ahmet Chalyk presented the project designed at increasing electricity supply to Ashgabat and the layouts of power stations and power transmission lines to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for consideration. It is expected that five 220 kW stations, twenty one 110 kW stations and twenty nine 35 kW stations and suspended power transmission lines will be built during three phases of the project. Completion of these works in 2016 will strengthen the position of our country as the electricity power in the modern world.

When considering the projects, the President provided the recommendations. The Turkmen leader gave instructions to the high-ranking officials to ensure that the Turkmen State Energy Institute and one of the departments of the International Oil and Gas University would train highly qualified specialists, who are to work at the new facilities. The Turkmen leader instructed Ahmet Chalyk to training of Turkmen specialists in foreign countries.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the development of a modern power supply network was an essential factor in the successful development of the national economy through adopting best practices.

The businessman assured the President that his company would fulfil all the instructions and recommendations when implementing the ambitious energy project initiated by the Turkmen leader in the interest of the country and the Turkmen people. It was noted that subcontractors, including the world-renowned companies, such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, General Electric and others, that would supply state-of-the-art equipment, conduct pre-commissioning and train specialists, would be involved in modernization of power supply infrastructure.
