OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2013. The Expert Council at the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) for developing competition on the market of production and circulation of ethanol, alcohol and alcohol-containing products took place.

Participants discussed the issues of industry regulation in 2013, the prospects of developing industry-specific legislation in 2014, particularly, within the Common Economic Space.

Experts pointed out that the most important issues for the industry remain unlawful intervention of the authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation in the work of market actors, unbalanced excise policy, as well as competitive ability of Russian producers and distributors within the Common Economic Space.

“FAS priority on the market of alcohol and alcohol-containing products were and remain the impact of the proposed legislative initiatives upon the state of competition and suppressing regional protectionism. In 2014 the Federal Antimonopoly Service continue the dialogue with the industry to achieve a balance between the national policy and creating conditions for developing competition in the industry”, pointed out the Chairman of the Expert Council, assistant to the Head of FAS, Pavel Subbotin.
