OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2013. The Economics Ministry expects a growth of 8-9-per cent of the Gross Domestic Product in 2013, after an advance of 8 per cent recorded in the first nine months of 2013.

„The National Institute of Economic Researches (INCE) estimates an increase of up to 9 per cent for this year, I would say that I expect a rise up of 8-9 per cent”. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar made statements to this effect at a news conference today. „The agriculture had not only compensated the 2012 losses, but also had a real growth. Certain structural changes appear”.

„The investments in the infrastructure only just have started yielding results. We have a proactive policy, investments are made in competitiveness,” Lazar added.

At the same time, Lazar said that he had a conservatory scenario for 2014, with a four-per cent growth forecast. „We do not want to create too high expectations and build an unreal budget on it,” Lazar said. The minister specified that the capital investments would increase to 8 billion lei in 2014.

In last October, the Economics Ministry improved the forecast of the rise in the Gross Domestic Product to 5.5 per cent.
