OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' chemical company OAO Grodno Azot manufactured Br8.857 trillion worth of chemical products (USD 941.224 million) in January-October 2013, up 17.2% on the year, the company said in an official report posted on the company's web site.

In November 2013 commodity output grew 14.3% on the year to Br831.044 billion (USD 88.315 million).

OAO Grodno Azot's mineral fertilizer production stood at 690,240 tonnes (in terms of 100% nitrogen) in January-October 2013, up 2.1% on the year. In November alone nitrogen fertilizer output increased 32% on the year to 69,605 tonnes; carbamide output increased 1.5% to 871,728 tonnes (November - up 31.8% to 93,750 tonnes).

Grodno Azot increased output of ammonium sulphate by 9.1% in January-November 2013 up to 361,500 tonnes; nitrosol - 704,527 tonnes (up 1.1%); ammonia - 930,983 tonnes (up 1.4%), sulphuric acid - 243,686 tonnes (up 7.7%); caprolactam - 116,809 tonnes (up 6.9%); chemical fibres - 37,441 tonnes (down 11.6%).

Grodno Azot was set up in 1963 and transformed into an open joint-stock company in 2002. The Belarusian government holds a 99.97% stake.

Grodno Azot is Belarus' main producer of liquid ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, caprolactam, biodiesel fuel.
