OREANDA-NEWS. The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali says its export proceeds reduced 23% year-on-year in January-October 2013 to USD 1.823 billion, a source in the profile ministry told.

In January-October 2013 OAO Belaruskali exported 2.932 million tonnes of potash fertilizer (in terms of 100% potassium chloride), down 9.3% on the year.

Potash export proceeds reduced as a result of falling export prices, and shrinking sale volumes.

The average price of Belarusian potash fertilizers in Jan-Oct 2013 stood at USD 621 per tonne to compare with USD 732 per tonne in Jan-Oct 2012.

As previously reported, Belaruskali exported around 3.668 million tonnes of potash fertilizer (in terms of 100% potassium chloride) in 2012 (4.698 million in 2011), the average price being USD 727 per tonnes (USD 713).

Belaruskali's revenues reduced to 2.667 trillion rubles in 2012 from 3.249 trillion rubles in 2011.

The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is one of the world's largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers, employing about 18,440 personnel. It operates the Starobinskoye potash salts deposit and comprises four mine groups, auxiliary shops and support units.

Belaruskali controls more than 16% of the world's potash fertilizer market.
