OREANDA-NEWS. Bashneft made several personnel decisions in order to ensure that the Company's oil refining complex is managed more efficiently. In accordance with these decisions, Yakov Polunkin was appointed Director of the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim Branch; he is also the Director of Bashneft-Novoil and Bashneft-UNPZ.

In order to introduce uniform standards and optimize management of three production sites of the Ufa refineries, several functional areas were singled out in the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim Branch: production (safe operation and meeting production targets); technology (technical support of production and development); reliability and repairs (improving the quality of maintenance and repairs) and the economic unit (including production planning and investment control).

Anatoly Sukhorukov was appointed Director for Production of the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim Branch, Dmitry Maltsev became the Director for Technology, Ildus Sarvarov was appointed Director for Reliability and Repairs, and Natalya Petrovskaya was appointed Director for Economics.

Yakov Polunkin was born in Moscow. In 1997 he graduated from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas with a degree in process engineering. Since 1998 he worked in oil refining for Tyumen Oil Company (TNK) and the TNK-BP group of companies. In 2001-2007 he was General Director of CJSC Industrial Catalysts. In 2007-2008 he headed the Refining Department of OJSC TNK-BP Management. In 2008-2011 he was General Director of the Lisichansk Refinery (CJSC Linik, Ukraine) forming part of the TNK-BP group of companies. From January through September 2011 he was First Deputy General Director and General Director of OJSC Atomredmetzoloto. In February 2012 he became the Director of the Department for Management of Upgrade Programmes in Oil Refining and Petrochemicals of JSOC Bashneft. Mr. Polunkin has published over 20 academic articles and has designed a number of inventions.
