OREANDA-NEWS. January 06, 2014. This is provided for by amendments to the Tax Code approved in the framework of the fiscal policy for 2014. In particular, the petrol excise is to be raised from MDL 3,200 to MDL 3,500, with the diesel one raised from MDL 1,330 to MDL 1,455.

The excise on liquefied gas will be raised from MDL 1,995 to MDL 2,180 per t. The raises are expected to bring additional MDL 168.2 million to the state budget, Finance Minister Anatol Arapu said. Last time the fuel excises were raised at the beginning of 2013, climbing MDL 3,200 p.t. from MDL 3,030 for petrol, MDL 1,330 p.t. from MDL 1,260 for diesel and MDL 1,995 p.t. from MDL 1,890 for liquefied gas.

Besides, every January 1, fuel excises are going to be adjusted to an annual increase in nominal GDP projected for a current year as compared with the previous one. In 2014, the adjustment coefficient is going to make 9.3%, the Finance Ministry says.
