OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2014. PT Pertamina (Persero) and the Defense Ministry today signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding purchase of fuels (BBM) and lubricants. The MoU is hoped to strengthen the collaboration between Pertamina, the Defense Ministry and the Indonesian National Army Headquarter (Mabes TNI).
 
The MoU was signed by the Defense Director General of the Defense Ministry, Admiral (Laksda) Agus Purwoto, and the Director of Marketing and Trading of Pertamina, Hanung Budya, at the Defense Ministry office on Wednesday (18/12).
 
Pertamina Marketing and Trading Director Hanung Budya said that the MoU was hoped to act as the regulatory foundation that strengthen all in order to increase the partnership between the Defense Ministry, Pertamina and the Indonesian National Army Headquarter, particularly in providing fuels and lubricants.
 
“We are thankful and feel proud of the acknowledgment by the Defense Ministry and the Indonesian National Army that have been always committing in using Pertamina fuels and lubricants. We hope that the step by the Defense Ministry will motivate other government institutions and bodies to use Pertamina fuels and lubricants,” said Hanung.
 
Currently, he said, Pertamina has distributed economical fuels through routine activities as well as operational activities to the Indonesian National Army and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at the volume of no less than 425 million liters per year and at the growth rate of about 5% per year. All the needs have been supported by the supply from Pertamina Fuel Terminals spread across Indonesia.
 
“As a business entity, Pertamina hopes that in the future the collaboration will strengthen, particularly in administration support and financial supports, be it from the Defense Ministry as well as the Indonesian National Army Headquarter, so that Pertamina's role as the provider of Public Service Obligation as well as the provider of dividend for the country can be fulfilled,” Hanung said.
