OREANDA-NEWS. Rustam Shamsutdinov, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ for Purchases, announced preliminary results of the passing year.
According to Mr. Shamsutdinov, the Purchasing Section undertook several tasks in 2013, including putting things in order and centralization, achievement of the planned economic effect, the launch of a new product. During the year, new information technologies were introduced, and more than 35% of money payments were transferred to the treasury. Besides, understandable formulas of delivery volumes were introduced for suppliers, working groups for pricing and selection of suppliers were built up.
“This year, we refused to cooperate with 72 intermediaries and started creating efficient instruments which enable to control selection of materials and technologies,” Rustam Shamsutdinov noted. “Besides, we created a subdivision responsible for negotiations with suppliers. This and many other things enabled KAMAZ to gain an economic effect in the amount of more than 3.8 billion roubles in 2013.”
It should be mentioned that this spring KAMAZ has changed a procedure of his work with suppliers. The new approach helped to enhance transparency, cut losses and lower the prime cost of products. The first step in this direction was to establish the Section of Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ for Purchasing, which merged then operating divisions – the Center of Purchasing which acquires products for the main assembly line of the automobile plant, and OOO STFK KAMAZ which purchases products for the dealership and service networks. The main aim of the Section is to enhance transparency, minimize losses and optimize the purchasing process. In order to achieve the required result, KAMAZ decided to conclude contracts with manufacturers directly, excluding intermediaries from the “string”, and, in the process of negotiations with suppliers, to achieve reduction in price of products to be delivered. These measures are to eliminate parasite companies which overprice raw materials and components for the automobile plant.
