OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2014. The Directorate of Railway Stations, a branch of Russian Railways, and the All-Russian Sports and Sports-Governmental Organisation the Russian Association for Sport and Leisure Facilities (RASF) have tested the six station complexes located at the venue for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi: the Olympic Park, Krasnaya Polyana, Esto-Sadok, Adler, Sochi and Khosta.

The Russian Association for Sport and Leisure Facilities (RASF) is a consultant to the ANO Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee and the Russian Paralympic Committee.

The tests were carried out to determine how far the station complexes comply with the requirements for a barrier-free environment for people with limited mobility. All the stations were certified upon completion of the examination.

The tests of the station complexes were done under the "Equality of Opportunity. Inclusion. Access" voluntary certification procedure.

This approach was also used in certifying Olympic facilities in Sochi, such as the Bolshoi, Iceberg and Shaiba (Puck) ice rinks, the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track and the cross-country ski biathlon etc.

Applying unified expert methods during the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games to be held in early 2014 in Sochi will ensure a single barrier-free space at both sport facilities and on transport infrastructure.
