OREANDA-NEWS. Over the 12 months of the year 2013 the operations of the Open joint-stock Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) won 96.5m tonnes of coal. Compared to the same period of the previous year the production decreased by 1%.

In 2013, sales volume went up 1% against the same period of the previous year, amounting to 92.6m tonnes of coal. The international market coal sales went up 9% and amounted to 42.4m tonnes of coal; the Company's own coal exports grew by 7% and amounted to 38.7m tonnes of coal. The major international consumer markets are China, UK, South Korea, Japan and Germany.

As many as 50.2m tonnes of coal were sold to consumers within Russia, which is 5% below the previous year indicators, with 37.3 mln tonnes from the above amount shipped to electric power-generating facilities.
