OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2014. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Moldova Iurie Leanca at the meeting with the Minister of agriculture of Netherlands Sharon Dijksma in Hague.

The parties supported implementation of joint projects in agriculture and intensification of bilateral trade. Iurie Leanca noted that Moldova and Netherlands, which is the largest exporter of agricultural products in EU and the second in the world after the United States, have great potential for cooperation in agriculture.

According to the Premier, the free trade regime with the EU, which will be soon granted to Moldova, will create new opportunities for the potential Dutch investors in the Moldovan economy and will be a guarantor, both for investor and the consumer, as it is based on security and food traceability. Iurie Leanca thanked the Netherlands for supporting exports of Moldovan wines to the EU market through cancellation of quotas from January 1, 2014.

The two sides also agreed to organize Moldovan-Netherlands business forum in Holland in autumn this year. The Dutch Minister expressed his intention to import wines and foodstuffs from our country, and stated readiness to share experience in the field of production and sales of animal and vegetable origin products. Sharon Dijksma said that Moldova is a new producer for the Dutch consumers.

"We appreciate the quality of Moldovan wines and are ready to offer you support in the development of agricultural sector and in finding new markets, "- she said. The volume of trade in agricultural and food products between Moldova and Netherlands for 9 months of 2013 amounted to USD13 million. Moldova exports to Netherlands plant-growing products, tobacco and tobacco goods and imports processed products of animal and vegetable origin.
