OREANDA-NEWS. Block-modular boiler house No. 5 in Bratsk, which is currently the largest gas consumer in the Irkutsk Region, resumed operation.

Gas is supplied to block-modular boiler house No. 5 by LLC ITERA Oil and Gas Company, which produces gas at the Bratsk gas and condensate field. The ten-year gas supply contract signed on October 31, 2013 stipulates gas supplies to the existing block-modular boiler house No. 5 totaling 4.8 mln nm3 per year and an increase in gas supplies to 18 mln nm3 per year after OJSC Irkutskenergo commissions block-modular boiler house No. 25, with all pricing terms remaining unchanged. January 2014 saw the start of preparation of technical specifications for equipment to be designed and manufactured for block-modular boiler house No. 25; front-end engineering design is to be completed in 2014.

Vyacheslav Solomin, acting CEO of OJSC EuroSibEnergo, commented: “The first gas-fuelled power plant in the Irkutsk Region, block-modular boiler house No.5 in Bratsk, is very important for the Company. As block-modular boiler house No. 5 has resumed operation, OJSC Irkutkenergo will now be able to reassign the task of heat generation from the Gidrostroitel electric boiler house to block-modular boiler house No. 5; subsequently, the remaining demand for heat will be satisfied by block-modular boiler house No. 25. The gas-fuelled block-modular boiler house will become the largest consumer of gas produced at the Bratsk gas and condensate field, which will promote the development of gas infrastructure in the region and will make it possible to control the growth of gas and heat prices.”
