OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2014. EMT launches a new and innovative private number service, which enables to make and receive calls on an anonymous virtual number. The service is useful for residential and business customers who want to keep their personal phone number private.

"Those who sell or purchase items online can use a virtual phone number when dealing with other users. Currently, the alternative is using a prepaid calling card, but it is not a convenient solution because it requires changing the SIM card of having two mobile phones. The virtual private number is much more convenient because it is used on the same SIM card as user's main phone number, and the users can subscribe and terminate the service online," said Lauri Laheb, Head of Product Management Division at EMT.

Private Number is a prepaid service. The cost depends on the time the virtual number is active. Validity time is set by the user upon ordering the service. Subscribing to the Private Number service is free.

Private Number is open to customers of all mobile carriers.  Anonymous virtual number can be bought for 1 to 90 days.

The service is closed if private number's validity time or airtime runs out. To continue using the same virtual number, the service must be extended, and to get another virtual number, the user must re-subscribe to the service.

In roaming, it is not possible to use virtual number for making outgoing calls, but incoming calls are allowed.

The Private Number service has its own website www.privaatnumber.ee with online management system where users can subscribe, suspend and terminate the service, view service's history and status.
