OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2014. The Latvian Association of Commercial Banks has announced that the introduction of the euro in Latvia has led to complications in the PayPal electronic payments system.

The system does not automatically convert lats to euros, and so PayPal payments are not transferred to client accounts. Banks are calling on their clients to contact PayPal or the relevant bank individually so as to ensure payments via the manual regime.

Latvian banks, upon noting the problem, contacted PayPal, which admitted to the mistake and promised to resolve it by February 28, 2014.

Clients can continue to use PayPal to make payments for goods and services without any problems.
