OREANDA-NEWS.  January 22, 2014. Ieva Azanda joined 24 SORAINEN partners in the Baltics and Belarus to become SORAINEN Latvia partner and head of the Competition & Regulatory Team in Latvia.

Ieva has earned the highest appraisals of her professional achievements in the competition law area in the past ten years. During this time she has gained an outstanding reputation in the Latvian market working on the most significant competition law matters. She has also earned international recognition from reputable legal directories. She represents companies before the Competition Council in significant merger clearances, as well as ensuring representation during investigations of alleged infringements and market overview cases. Ieva represents clients before similar supervisory institutions – including the Public Procurement Office, the Consumer Protection Centre and the National Electronic Mass Media Council. Ieva has obtained significant experience in the field of public procurement and European Union law, including client representation at the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Ieva has practiced in leading Baltic law firms since 2002, gaining valuable experience before joining the SORAINEN team. As of 2009, she had the status of partner and was leading several practice groups, as well as ensuring administrative management of the firms she was with. Before that Ieva worked at the European Integration Office and at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main. Ieva combines her practice with lecturing at the Riga Business School and Riga Graduate School of Law.
