OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2014. Central and local executive authorities have been recommended to revise tariffs for gas. The applicable rules are contained in the Government decree dated on 30.12.2013 № 951.

The Government has recommended the National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy to revise from January 1, 2014 the maximum level of natural gas prices for:

- institutions that are financed from the state and local budgets (kindergartens, hospitals, students’ dormitories and other, etc.) – UAH 2 448 per 1000 cubic meters;

- industrial customers and other economic entities - UAH 3113 per 1000 cubic meters;

- heating utilities - UAH 1309.2 per 1000 cubic meters (including VAT and a surcharge rates for transmission, distribution and supply).

National Commission for the State Regulation of public utilities and local governments recommended revising tariffs for heat and hot water for the population with the new gas prices from January 1, 2014.

State Inspection for Price Control has to ensure entities with conclusions on economically reasonable cost while pricing for the production, transmission and supply of thermal energy, the provision of central heating and hot water.

Central and local executive have to ensure, within its competence the control over reduction due to a decrease in the price of natural gas and heating prices of the paid services provided by public enterprises, institutions and organizations.

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and the National Joint Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" shall provide upon request of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy documents and materials necessary to adjust the limit price of natural gas.
