OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2014. The Government received an overview of the LNG terminal projects at cabinet meeting and decided to give a mandate to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications to continue consultations on the establishment of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal and gas pipeline BalticConnector connecting Estonia and Finland.

Prime Minister Andrus Ansip said that BalticConnector is a clear priority to Estonia based on the aspect of the certainty of supply and the Government cabinet has solidly come to this realisation.
Additionally, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications was provided with a task to submit an overview of competing LNG terminal project applications in Estonia to the Government.

The following step includes submitting an application for the support of the Connecting Europe Facility. The first round of applications is likely to be open from this year’s May to August.
