OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2014. President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Minister of Environment and Water Resources Nurlan Kapparov.

Minister reported to the President on the outcomes of 2013 and plans for the coming year.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the importance of vesting the Ministry with new authorities and transferring committees on water resources, hunting and forestry, and fisheries into its ownership. President paid attention to the training of experienced personnel, particularly in the field of water resources management and international negotiations about issues of transboundary rivers.

In addition, Kazakhstan's President emphasized the need for a balanced and integrated approach to the development of "green economy" in the country as per international practice.
During the meeting N. Kapparov informed about the agency's activities in the area of "green economy" as well as the development of water and municipal solid waste management programs.
At the end of the meeting, the President instructed to continue working in the mentioned directions, in particular, to begin preparation of action plans for the implementation of these programs.
