OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2014. Shanghai Yetang 110kV new generation of smart substation was put into operation, signifying the completion of 6 smart substations of the new generation in the first batch. Other 5 demonstration projects are 220kV substation at Chongqing Dashi, 2 outdoor 110kV substations at Hubei Future City and 220kV substation at Beijing Future City, 110kV substation at Beijing Haijingluo and 3 indoor substations at Tianjin Hi-Tech Park.

The construction target is to create substations of the next generation with “highly integrated system, reasonably laid-out structure, advanced and appropriate equipment, economic and energy conservation objectives, and the ability to support integrated control”. The project aimed to tackle several critical technological issues about the disconnection of circuit breakers, the secondary equipment integration module, integrated operation platform and hierarchical protection control, etc.

The project successfully developed 107 models of appliances falling into 19 categories including the circuit breaker with disconnector and integrated controlling system, realizing a more complete and reliable hierarchical protection control and a greater level of practicability of sequence control and intelligent alarm with the adoption of the integrated control platform. The indoor construction area was reduced by 15-25% after the implementation of secondary equipment integration module, and the outdoor construction area was reduced by 45-64% with local installation of the secondary devices.

With the full implementation of the concept of “integrated design, integrated supply, integrated debugging”, the construction period was shortened by 25% and the efficiency of installation and debugging was significantly improved.
