OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2014. Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) disseminated the following statement:

KPO currently has a contract with KSS Building LLP (“KSS”) for provision of office space in Aksai.  KPO has not terminated the contract with KSS Company.

In April 2013, KPO initiated a market research for available office space in Aksai; this market research is carried out ahead of any possible tender exercise.  KPO will conduct the tender exercise in accordance with its tender procedures after further evaluation of its office requirements.

In the meantime, KPO offered KSS a 3 month extension of the contract; however this offer was not accepted by KSS.

KPO is committed to support the local communities in which it operates through responsible engagement with its contractors, local government, and the local workforce.

KPO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with other contractors to consider possible employment opportunities within their organizations for KSS staff that may be affected by the current situation.  KPO will fully cooperate with the contractors in this endeavour.

KSS will be free to participate in future opportunities at Karachaganak.
