OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2014. In 2013, ICBC continued to improve customer experience by enhancing reliability and convenience in online train ticket payment, pushing the volume to another record high. Statistics show that ICBC online ticketing and payment system has processed about 120 million train ticket payments worth RMB 16.9 billion, representing an increase of 174% and 115% respectively over the previous year.

Passengers who choose to buy train tickets online and pay through Internet Banking may login the website of China Railway Customer Service Center (www.12306.cn) and register, by instructions to check and book train tickets. Once finished, users may use the ICBC card with Internet Banking function to pay online. Railway authority will send the details of the tickets to the buyers via email or SMS. Passengers can use identity card to retrieve the train ticket at any railway ticketing office. At the train stations of Beijing-Tianjin inter-city line and Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail equipped with devices to check second-generation identity cards, passengers are allowed to use the second-generation identity card (used when buying the ticket) at the automatic ticket-checking device to enter or exit the train station.

Last year, in line with the rapid development of mobile communications and mobile Internet, ICBC became the first bank in China to launch mobile ticket payment under "Railway 12306" mobile app, providing another option for travelers to buy tickets.
