OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2014. The exact amount of assistance will be specified during negotiations. During the meeting, the government of Moldova has approved the commencement of negotiations with the International Development Association and the International Bank for reconstruction and development (World Bank group) on the draft agreement on funding the program.

The Cabinet of Ministers formed a group of negotiators from Moldova headed by the Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu tasked to arrange financing in the shortest time and on the most favorable terms. It is planned that the Program for increasing the competitiveness in Moldova will be based on: improving predictability of the business environment, creation of equal conditions for competition and lower the cost of compliance with the existing rules; consolidation of the financial sector stability, promoting transparency and improved access to finance; efficiency and equity of public investment, investment subsidies in agriculture and social assistance.

It is planned that USD 30 million to be allocated to Moldova in the form of the budget support. Assistance is due to implementation of actions mentioned in the matrix policy, aimed at improving productivity and competitiveness in attracting new investments to the economy. It should be noted that the increase of competitiveness is one of the main directions of the new partnership Strategy of the World Bank with Moldova for 2014-2017 within which our country will receive overall USD570 million from WB group.
