OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2014. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Igor Artemiev, and the Chairman of the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, signed a joint order on establishing an inter-branch Working Group for combating violations in the antimonopoly law.

The Working Group will organize meetings, working groups and negotiations to resolve the issues of antimonopoly enforcement and facilitate prompt exchange of information between the two bodies.

“Creating the Working Group shall intensify cooperation between FAS and the Investigation Committee. We already have positive experience of an inter-branch Working Group of FAS Russia and the Ministry of Interior, formed in 2013. FAS has many common themes for cooperation with the Investigation Committee, from anticompetitive actions of the authorities to bid-rigging”, pointed out Deputy Head of FAS, Alexander Kinyov.

On 3rd October 2012, the Chairman of the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, and the Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Igor Artemiev, signed an Agreement on Cooperation between the two bodies.

The Agreement provides for regular exchanging of information on the issues of common interests between the authorities, organizing joint conferences, workshops, working meetings and other events, carrying out mutual consultations, and establishing inter-branch working (expert) groups.
