OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2014. Readiness of NIBULON-5, the fifth tug of POSS-115 project, has already exceeded 22 %!

At present the air temperature is reaching 0°C; frost and precipitation have stopped. Thus, construction of the vessels became more active; in particular, work at the berth site has been renewed. There is more detailed information about construction status of the vessels.

NIBULON-5:
1) Formation of the most complicated hull structures has been started: units No.10 and No. 50 of the forebody and afterbody edge.

2) Welding work to form unit No.40 will be finished soon.

3) Foundations for Berg rudder-propellers (Sweden) which are recognized as one of the classical marine propulsion units are being manufactured.

4) Production of pipes to equip units No.10 (readiness is 77 %), No.20 (readiness is 90 %), No.30 (readiness is 95 %), No.40 (completed), No.50 (readiness is 85 %) is being completed. NIBULON’s shipbuilders have started to manufacture pipes for the bilge and ballast system, for the fire-extinguishing system, and also air and sounding pipes.

At the assembly and welding workshop NIBULON-6 is being constructed. In particular:

1) The shipbuilders have already mounted the upper deck sections of the unit No.20, and its bottom section has been assembled.

2) Installation of the upper deck sections of the unit No.20 will be completed soon.

3) Assemblies of the bottom sections of the units No.30 and No.40 have already been manufactured.

4) Processing of metal at “Leninska Kuznya” plant is being completed. Work readiness comprises 80 %.

We would remind you that when construction of these tugs is completed, the company plans to implement a number of other shipbuilding orders: a series of river tugs of POSS-120 project, non-self-propelled vessels of NBL-91 project, self-propelled vessels of “Volgo Don Max” type.
