OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian government may limit imports of Belarusian dairy products to protect the market from unfair competition, First Deputy Prime Minister Arkadi Dvorkovich said.

“As regards steps against unfair competition on markets: Belarus was mentioned. According to our estimates, there is unfair competition, and the Russian market suffers from that. Most probably we will have to take steps in response to our Belarusian partners,” he said.

Dvorkovich did not rule out that the measures will cover not only dairy products but some other areas of partnership as well.

In September, Russian consumer rights watchdog said that about 30% of Belarusian milk and dairy products did not meet safety requirements.
