OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2014. As Electronic Governance Centre Executive Director Stela Mocan reported at the Tuesday’s press conference, the total amount includes MDL 1.8 million lent by the World Bank under the E-transformation of government program and MDL 200,000 allotted from the budget of the State Taxation Inspectorate.

The money was spent to develop and launch the new platform. According to Director of the State Taxation Inspectorate Ion Prisacaru, the new service is to be launched in three stages. At the first, pilot one, to start on February 11 and finish in 6 month, the service will be tried by certain number of companies in order to adjust the platform, if necessary. The second stage starts on June 1 for all economic agents to test the service.

The national launch is scheduled for January 1, 2015. According to Stela Mocan, the Online Invoice aims to establish better communication between the business community and the taxation bodies to give companies an opportunity to fill in invoices, including the tax ones, without visiting taxation agencies. Thanks to the new service, documenting of all bargains will be faster, the forgery risks will be lower, the efficiency of work will increase, costs will be reduced and the risk of losing an invoice will be excluded, Ion Prisacaru says. During the press conference, Iurie Leanca, the Premier of Moldova, noted that printing tax invoices costs the state about MDL 20 million a year, and the launch of the new service would reduce both costs and corruption.

The new service also makes it available for economic agents to confirm their online purchases. The service guarantees security of online bargains and protects personal records. The Online Invoice service has been developed by the government of Moldova and the State Taxation Service with the support of the E-governance Centre. According to the E-governance Centre Executive Director, up to date, the E-Conversion of Government program has provided access to about 394 usual and 87 online services.
