OREANDA-NEWS. The participants discussed the development outlook and the key stages of the further modernization of Ulyanovskcement - an enterprise belonging to EUROCEMENT group. It was remarked at the meeting that Ulyanovskcement is the largest cement production factory in the Ulyanovsk region. In 2013, more than 1.8 million tons of cement was produced by the factory, which is 3% more than in 2012.

The enterprise's produce enjoys wide popularity and a high reputation in the construction sectors of the Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Penza regions, the republics of Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Mari El and Mordovia, and other regions of Russia. In 2013, 36.5% of cement was unloaded onto various construction sites in the Republic of Tatarstan - Ulyanovskcement has become the largest supplier on the republic's market.

Building materials produced by Ulyanovskcement were used in 2013 in the construction of such major projects as the XXVII Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, among others. The main volume of cement deliveries was put toward the reconstruction of the Kazan International Airport airstrip, the construction of the M-7 federal highway, where large works are underway to reconstruct the roadbed, the erection of the Kazan Arena football stadium to seat 45 thousand in the capital of Tatarstan, the construction of a Rowing Center, the construction of Olympic village buildings, and many other structures.

Ulyanovsk regional governor Sergei Morozov rated the first stage of Ulyanovskcement's modernization highly. At the meeting he said: “Today, the Ulyanovsk region occupies leading positions in attracting investment and development in industrial parks. The modernization of the Ulyanovskcement enterprise is one of the most important investment projects underway in the region. We'll be watching its further development with interest”.

EUROCEMENT group is continually modernizing its plants with the aim of increasing the quality of its produce, reducing its energy consumption and improving its environmental friendliness. More than 460 million rubles were invested in the enterprise and on mine development in 2010. In particular, a 10km-long railroad was built from the chalk mine to the plant, and significant funds were invested in the core operations and the repair and reconstruction of the precipitator of rotary kilns and bag filters.
