OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2014. GAZ Group provided the Olympic Committee of Austria with two GAZelle NEXT and eight Sobol passenger vans. The vehicles are used for transporting the Austrian team during the Olympic Games in Sochi.

“The three major requirements to the vehicles servicing top-level competitions such as the Olympic Games are maximum comfort for passengers, good control and maneuverability in cities, as well as maximum reliability. These are the three key principles taken as a basis for the GAZelle NEXT passenger van development. We are proud that the Austrian Olympic Committee appreciated our products,” – said Chairman of the OJSC GAZ Board of Directors Siegfried Wolf.

The NEXT passenger van has a spacious interior with high roof, good visibility and generous room between seats. The independent front suspension, highly informative steering system with rack-and-pinion gear, reinforced rear suspension complimented by a stabilizer bar and high capacity brakes provide for smooth movement. Accompanied with good roadability and steering accuracy, high maneuverability, compact dimensions of the body, special engine settings and enlarged mirrors provide for easy driving in the narrow streets. The Sobol passenger vans are equipped with anatomic passenger seats and panoramic windows. All the vehicles are equipped with GLONASS and video surveillance systems.
