OREANDA-NEWS. The 9th Tripartite Wage Settlement for a period of five years with effect from 01.01.2012 was concluded between the Management of NMDC and All India NMDC Workers' Federation on 19.02.2014 at New Delhi before Shri B.K. Sanwariya, Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), New Delhi.

The All India NMDC Workers' Federation was headed by the Federation President & Hon'ble Member of Parliament Shri Gurudas Das Gupta, represented by Shri S.Q. Zama, General Secretary, Shri R.D.Tripathi, Vice President, Shri RDCP Rao, Secretary and the Management of NMDC was headed by Shri C.S. Verma, CMD, represented by Shri S.Thiagarajan, Director (Finance), Shri Subimal Bose, Director (Production), Shri Sarbesh Kumar Das, Director (Commercial) & Shri Sandeep Tula, General Manager (P&A).

Around 5000 workmen of NMDC will be benefited by this wage revision. There will be an average increase of Rs.10,000/- to 12,000/- per month per each workman. The financial implication of this wage revision is estimated to be around Rs 65 crore per annum.

In consideration, both the parties have agreed to increase the production level of NMDC to 32 MT per annum from the present production level of around 30 MT per annum. The settlement has been widely acclaimed by the workmen of NMDC.
