OREANDA-NEWS. The Maltsovsky Portlandcement plant, part of EUROCEMENT group, has provided charitable aid to various organizations and institutions in the Bryansk region.

The plant devotes a lot of attention to supporting physical activity and advocating a healthy lifestyle. In February 2013, it sponsored the XXIII Russian Kyokushin Championship for men and women, in addition to a Russian Kyokushin karate competition for girls and boys (16-17 years). 249 athletes took part in them from 40 Russian regions. Maltsovsky Portlandcement's General Director Nikolai Karyakin was honored with a commendation in the name of the Kyokushin Federation of Russia for help in organizing and holding the Russian Championship.

In November of the previous year, the group provided financial aid to the Fokino V. I. Gedroitz City Hospital amounting to 300 thousand rubles for the purchase and installation of equipment for its surgery department. As a result, the hospital received a new universal mechanical hydraulic operating table, a double dome ceiling operating light, and medical instruments for performing surgical operations.

The mutual connection between the Maltsovsky Portlandcement plant and the city hospital stretches back over more than a hundred years. The modern hospital started as a factory hospital built in 1900 - at the time of the construction of the Maltsovsky Cement factory. Its first patients were the factory's builders, and then its workers and the residents of the village that sprang up not far from the plant.

In 2013, a charitable subscription was twice taken out for periodical publications of the city and region (the newspapers Plamya Truda, Bryansky Perekrestok, Nasha Zhizn and Veteran) for veterans of the factory and Fokino.

Over the previous year, Maltsovsky Portlandcement provided unconditional donations of cement amounting to 135.5 tons to various organizations and institutions of the Bryansk region. The plant's cement went on repairs and preparations for the new educational year in the educational institutions of Fokino; repairs on the Darkovichi Home for the Elderly and Disabled; organizing practical lessons for students of the bricklayer profession and repairs of the pavements of Fokino industrial training college; and erecting a chapel and memorial in the Square of Memory in the village of Vadkovka in the Pogarsky district of the Bryansk region. Using the plant's cement, the erection of churches and temples was continued in Pupkovo (Dyatkovsky district), Krasnaya Gora (Krasnogorsky district) and Kommuna Pchela (Pogarsky district).
