OREANDA-NEWS. On February, 13-16th, representatives of company Corum have participated in International Mining Exhibition 2014 and in 5th Asian Mining congress in Calcutta.

Within the limits of exhibition activities representatives of Corum have held presentation of the company and a number of meetings with representatives of the mining companies of India where they have discussed cooperation possibilities.

“Level of ambitions of our company has long gone beyond Ukraine, and the current course of Corum is active development of new markets”, said the Director of the Infrastructure projects division of Corum Group Vladimir Merzlikin.

According to the Director of the Division, today the one who will be one of the originators of underground mining technologies in the coal market of India, upon availability of serious partners and timely conducted active measures, will receive good chances to find its niche. At present more than 90 % of coal production in India are executed by open method.

As previously reported, as a result of the researches of a mining industry in the country conducted in 2013, company Corum in November last year has decided to enter the market of India. This decision is caused by perspectivity of development of the Indian market (annual production of coal is about 700 million tons with a tendency to increase) and existing needs of the country both in construction of new mines, and in modernization of existing ones.

International Mining Exhibition (IME) which is conducted since 2006, is supported by some relevant ministries of India and is a meeting place for professionals in the mining and metallurgical industry.
