OREANDA-NEWS.  Fujitsu Limited has been named among the winners selected for the 2013 Diversity Management Selection 100, a program established by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to recognize companies that promote diversity.

Fujitsu was recognized for a variety of reasons, including its consciousness of the necessity to respect diversity, a tenet of the Fujitsu Way, the Fujitsu Group's corporate philosophy. In addition, for its Diversity Promotion Office, established with the full commitment of the company's top management to promote diversity in stages based on three-year plans, as well as for the process innovation of its product planning activities, which take into account the lifestyles of its customer segments.

METI implemented its Diversity Management Selection 100 program in fiscal 2012 with the aim of broadening the number of companies engaged in management practices that foster diversity, offering examples of forward-thinking corporate initiatives that tie the promotion of diversity to management results, and to broadly instill in a company's management the significance of diversity in corporate strategy. On a cumulative basis, in this program METI plans to recognize approximately 100 companies that engage in management practices that generate innovation and create value by offering a diverse range of employee opportunities that enable them to realize the full potential of their talents.
