OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2014. Verizon and McAfee announced an extension of their agreement that now offers multi-device security to Verizon’s more than 9 million FiOS Internet and High Speed Internet (digital subscriber line) customers.  With Verizon Internet Security Suite Multi-Device powered by McAfee, consumers and small businesses can protect all of their PCs, laptops, Macs, and Android smartphones and tablets with one easy-to-use central management console.

A recent survey conducted by McAfee found that nearly 90 percent of consumers around the world own more than one Internet-enabled device, and in the U.S. 65 percent have three or more devices. The continued growth in multiple-device ownership and complex threats to privacy and security has fueled demand for threat and identity protection across the spectrum of devices in a customer’s home or business.

“With people more connected than ever before, Verizon and McAfee now deliver greater value and security to residential and small business customers, helping them to safeguard multiple devices comprehensively and cost effectively,” said Farooq Muzaffar, vice president of broadband solutions for Verizon. This new solution enables our customers to keep pace with the dynamic way they live their digital lives.”

John Giamatteo, senior vice president and general manager, McAfee consumer business, said: “With the number of devices in households and small businesses on the rise, coupled with the steady rise of identity theft and other cybercrime, easily accessible cross-device security is vital to maintaining a worry-free computing environment. Through our agreement with Verizon we have a tremendous opportunity to work together to help millions of people protect their devices, data and identities, wherever they are.”

Verizon Internet Security Suite Multi-Device powered by McAfee offers comprehensive digital life protection, with award-winning anti-virus and anti-malware capabilities. It also provides added personal information and identity protection through features that keep data safe from risky websites and applications; create hard-to-guess passwords for online accounts; and enable safe banking on mobile devices.

The service is available immediately to residential consumers for USD6.99 per month, or USD 11 a month when purchased as part of the Verizon Multi-Device Security and Backup Bundle. For a limited time, qualifying customers can receive a 50 percent discount for 12 months. For more information, visit http://www.verizon.com/home/utilities/security-backup.
