OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, one of India's largest integrated power utilities, endeavours to empower women and enable them to take up leadership roles in the organisation. To reinforce this commitment, the company organised the first leadership development programme for women employees of Jojobera under its 'Women to Lead' programme. The programme aims to provide valuable guidance and develop leadership qualities in women employees to enable them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

In a two- day programme, women employees were provided training on communications, ethics, conflict management, emotional intelligence, time management, financial management and health care to enhance their management skills and become the drivers for development in the organisation. The employees were also trained on safety and self-defence.

DS Kudalkar, head, Jojobera Station, said, “At Tata Power women empowerment is of paramount importance and we will continue to organise more such leadership programmes for our women employees. We are delighted with the overwhelming response by our employees towards this initiative. We hope that this programme will be instrumental in fostering leaders of tomorrow among our women colleagues.”

Chetan Tolia, chief human resource officer, interacted with the employees through video conferencing during the session and highlighted the importance of leadership qualities and the significance of active participation by women employees in the decision- making process.
