OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2014. The Head of region welcomed the business delegation from the Canadian province Manitoba headed by Mr. Bill Tirius, Department Director of Trade and Investment Development of the Manitoba province’s Government during a working visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Republic of Kazakhstan Stephen Millar to Petropavlovsk  in the framework of agreements. The goal of the visit is to address further fruitful cooperation in agribusiness.

The delegation includes leading Canadian manufacturers of agricultural machinery and cattle, leading both in the Canadian and other world agricultural markets.

During the visit the Canadian delegation’s representatives visited the LLP "Avagoagro", LLP "Molprodukt", JSC " Sultan EMMK" and the site of planned industrial zone of Petropavlovsk.

Then the Akim of the region met with the delegation and discussed the main directions of further cooperation. The meeting was attended by the heads of concerned public organs of regions and districts, agricultural producers and the media.

According to the Head of region, North Kazakhstan has a specialized experience in cooperation with Canada. Farm machinery delivered from Canada has worked well, proving its high-capacity, reliability and efficiency. 328 tractors, 306 seeding machineries, more than 40 sprayers and 20 vehicles of "Kenworth" work in the region since the beginning of 2000.

"Holsteins dairy cattle and Angus and Hereford beef with high productivity are to be purchased from Canada to improve the genetic level and productivity of cattle. More than 3,000 heads have been bought as of today," Samat Yesskendirov said.

In turn, Bill Tirius introduced all members of the Canadian delegation, each of whom made a brief presentation about the company they represent.

North Kazakhstan and Canadian parties discussed prospects for further cooperation during the meeting.

The Canadian delegation invited officially the Head of region and the North Kazakhstan delegation to attend an international specialized agricultural exhibition Agritech (12-14 March, Astana) and an exhibition of agricultural equipment and technologies Canada's Farm Progress Show 2014 (18-24 June, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada) at the end of the meeting.
