OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus plans to revise the mechanism of credit support for agricultural enterprises, Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said Tuesday.

“The government suggests a new economic mechanism to give decent salaries to people working in rural areas. The main thing is to ensure sustainable development. Today we work in an open economic environment and we need to make sure it is competitive enough,” Myasnikovich said.

In this context, it is necessary to find new approaches to securing price parity and other important matters.

“The president decided to hold a kind of a plenary meeting to discuss the ways to improve the effectiveness of rural economy and reduce the influence of subjective factors on agricultural production,” Myasnikovich said.

The premier accentuated the point that almost everywhere in the world the agricultural sector is subsidized by the state.
