OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian distillery Belalco, based in Brest, increased exports 42.3% year on year in Jan-Feb 2014 to USD 955.5 million, a source in the administration of the company told.

Vodka and hard drink exports expanded by 100% to 64,500 dal, while starch shipments reduced by 19% to 30 tonnes, pure alcohol - 16,000 dal, up 100%.

Vodka output reduced 8.2% year on year to 336,000 decaliters; brandy - up 5.6% to 1,900 dal; rectified alcohol - up 7.9% to 233,000 dal.

At the same time, Belalco's inventories stood 86% of the average monthly output as of February 1, 2014.

The Brest-based distillery (currently Belalco) was established in 1897. It is capable of making about 1.5 million decaliters of hard drinks a year.
