OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2014. S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance®, and the federal unitary enterprise “Russian Post” have signed an agreement to organize the airmail transportation in 2014.

According to the agreement Russian Post is going to transport with S7 Airlines flights not less than 715.7 tones of mail a month within the period from March to June, and 798.5 tones of mail during the high season from July to December. S7 Airlines in its turn will provide the guaranteed capacity for mail transportation, timely delivery of mail to destination points and its safety during the transportation.

A direct agreement with the airline providing for the guaranteed mail transportation volumes, redistribution of expensive routes and flow structure changes enables Russian Post to cut the financial costs.

Mail will be transported on 123 S7 Airlines domestic routes both from Moscow to regions and on interregional routes. Geographically the transportation includes hard-to-reach regions in the Far Eastern Federal District where mail delivery will become more reliable and constant.

Considering mail transportation social importance and S7 Airlines unique route network the parties are expecting to establish long-term relations for logistics optimization and reduction of mail delivery terms on domestic routes.
