OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2014. The first Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant has been launched in February 2009. Since that time, the Company supplied 769 cargoes of LNG.

 The bulk of the product has been shipped to Japan and South Korea. Also, Sakhalin-2 LNG was delivered to China, India, Thailand and Taiwan. The output of both trains of Sakhalin Energy LNG plant is already sold under long-term contracts.

The delivery of the new for Russia energy product was per our contract obligations and thus we can say that Sakhalin Energy is confidently moving toward its primary objective – to be the premier energy source for Asia Pacific”, - said Roman Dashkov, Chief Executive Officer of Sakhalin Energy.

Sakhalin-2 LNG plant has been launched in February 2009, and in less than 18 months has reached its full design output of 9.6 million tonnes of LNG per year. Continuous improvements that have been implemented since 2010 allowed for 10% increase in production. Sakhalin Energy contributes over 4% of global LNG supplies.
