OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2014. Likino Bus Plant, a GAZ Group company, and Mostransavto, the biggest public transit company of Moscow region, have signed a contract for supply of 1615 LIAZ for Moscow region with the total value of over 9 billion rubles.

The Moscow Region bus fleet replacement with new high-tech buses will be carried out in several stages from 2014 until 2016.

GAZ Group will supply 1615 low-floor medium and large LIAZ buses for public transit operations in Moscow region. Euro-4 and Euro-5 compliant LIAZ buses are built using assemblies supplied by leading international manufacturers ZF and MAN, as well as new diesel engines of YAMZ-530 family that match the technical performance and customer value of the world’s best similar products.

The buses are equipped with a high performance climate system, video surveillance and fire extinguishing systems, digital tachographs and GLONASS navigation system.The renovated exterior and interior of the buses as well as the driver’s seat were designed in compliance with international standards’ requirements to comfort and ergonomics. The low floor level allows easy loading and unloading of passengers and as a result the route trip time is reduced by 15%. All the vehicles are provided with accessibility features for low-mobility passengers. The buses have a passenger capacity from 75 to 114 persons depending on the version.

The Moscow Region bus fleet renewal will be carried out in several stages over the course of three years: 455 buses will be supplied in 2014, 593 buses in 2015 and 567 buses in 2016.

GAZ Group actively participates in the Moscow region bus fleet renewal with LIAZ and GOLAZ buses constituting over 50% of the fleet. While executing the new three-year contract the company will use the state-of-the-art technologies implemented at its bus plants in the recent years: Likino Bus Plant was the first in Russia to launch LNG buses, electrobuses, hybrid technology, Euro-5 and Euro-5+ compliantbuses. LIAZ buses were supplied to Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other cities of Russia to renew their bus fleets. LIAZ buses were supplied to Sochi to service the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic games.
