OREANDA-NEWS. Vanino Bulk Carrier Terminal (ZAO Daltransugol) set a new record in loading cargo on to vessels by handling a daily amount of 110K tonnes of coal between March 14 and 15.

According to ZAO Daltransugol executive director Vladimir Shapoval, the result was facilitated by the 2013 equipment upgrading program at the Terminal, proper preparation of the Terminal for winter operation, professional development of dockworkers, competition between stevedore teams for the best monthly amount of cargo loaded on to ships, introduction of labour participation factor in the teams routines, and adoption of a new system of incentives for dockworkers for the speed and quality of loading coal on to vessels.

Today, Vanino Terminal is a year-round sea port with direct access to two independent railway lines, viz. Trans-Siberian Railway (Transsib) and Baikal-Amur Railway (BAM) connecting it to all points across Russia.

Vanino Terminal was launched in late 2008. SUEK built the Terminal to eliminate the lack of sea port facilities in the nation's East and to supply the expanding Asia-Pacific market with coal.
