OREANDA-NEWS. Production platform P-58 came into operation on Monday, March 17, as foreseen in our 2014-2018 Business and Management Plan. The unit is located in the complex called Parque das Baleias, in the Espirito Santo portion of the Campos Basin. Production got underway by means of well 7-BFR-7-ESS, producing from a pre-salt reservoir, which presented excellent productivity, as expected.

P-58 is an integral part of the Northern Parque das Baleias project, which involves production from the Baleia Franca, Cachalote, Jubarte, Baleia Azul, and Baleia Ana fields.

P-58 is installed at about 85 km off the Espirito Santo coast, in water depths of 1400 meters. In the coming months, 15 producing wells are expected to be connected to it, of which eight located in the pre-salt, seven in the post-salt, and nine injection wells, through 250 km of flexible pipes and two subsea manifolds (devices that transfer oil from the wells to the platform).

An FPSO unit (which produces, stores and offloads oil), the unit is capable of processing up to 180,000 barrels of oil and 6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

Oil will be exported from the platform on shuttle tankers, while the natural gas will flow over a gas pipeline to the Cacimbas Gas Treatment Unit, located in the city of Linhares, in Espirito Santo.

The works created about 4500 direct jobs and 13,500 indirect ones, and reached about 64 percent domestic content.

The platform's oil processing and gas compression modules were built in Rio de Janeiro. These modules were transported to the Honorio Bicalho shipyard, in the city of Rio Grande (state of Rio Grande do Sul), where the electrical panels and the main power generation modules were built and all modules integrated to the hull of the platform.

New platforms

Also as provided for under the 2014-2018 Business and Management Plan, three new platforms are scheduled to come into operation in the second quarter of 2014. In Roncador, in the Campos Basin, the P-62 will develop the field in conjunction with platforms P-52, P-54 and P-55. The latter went into production in December 2013.

At the Papa-Terra field, the P-61 and the SS-88 TAD (Tender Assisted Drilling) well-drilling support semi-submersible platform will enter service. These units will develop production at Papa-Terra together with P-63, which went into production in November 2013.
