Tata Power Delhi Distribution's (TPDDL) entry titled 'Customer Delight Through UV Mitigation in XLPE Cables' has been selected for the finals of Tata Innovista - 2014 to be held in Mumbai on April 23-24, 2014. TPDDL's entry was selected in the promising innovation category of the regional Tata Innovista-North, organised in Delhi on March 7, 2014, by Tata Network Forum - North at Vallabh Bhai Patel Chest Institute, Delhi University.

While addressing the esteemed gathering, Praveer Sinha, chairman, Tata Network Forum - North, and CEO and ED, TPDDL, said, “Innovation is a real differentiator between good and great work. At Tatas we focus on innovation so that we can not only change the business dynamics but also give back to the society many times over. In today's dynamic and competitive business environment, no business enterprise can succeed without constantly innovating itself. Besides adding to the bottom line, innovation can make businesses more sustainable and aid in making the world a better place to live in.”

Tata Innovista is an annual event whose aim is to develop innovation as a key value within the Tata group. It works under the aegis of Tata Group Innovation Forum (TGIF). TGIF showcases, recognises and awards the finest innovators across the group companies through the Tata Innovista platform.

The innovation presentations were judged by a panel of judges: Tanmaya Vats, vice president and head, global value innovation, PepsiCo; Meenu Handa, director, corporate communications, Amazon India; and Arvind Goel, president, chief operating officer and chief technology officer, Tata AutoComp Systems. The guests of honour were Prof Anand Prakash, dean, international relations (humanities and arts), Delhi University, and Dr N Prabhakar, scientist, DRDO. The event was also attended by the centre quality head and senior management of Tata companies from the north region and also professors and students from the Cluster Innovation Centre, Delhi University, along with the faculty and students of various other colleges of the Delhi University.
