OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2014. World Bank’s experts are ready, together with representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to prepare a list of measures to deregulate business activities, the implementation of which will enable Ukraine to significantly improve its position in the Doing Business Ranking.

This was started by World Bank Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Europe and Central Asia Qimiao Fan at the meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Anatolii Maksiuta.

The First Deputy Minister stressed that simplifying of business doing is one of the priorities of the Government. He said that at various stages of preparation are about twenty bills aimed at deregulating business in Ukraine.

"The result of deregulation should be not just the deregulation, but the business development and attracting investment into Ukraine," Anatolii Maksiuta said.

World Bank representatives were proposed to learn about government practices in this area and to prepare their proposals.

Qimiao Fan confirmed the readiness of the World Bank to assist Ukraine to conduct business deregulation and noted significant improvement in our country's position in the Doing Business Ranking of 2014.

“Ukraine last year seriously increased the Doing Business Ranking and we should keep these advances," the representative of the World Bank said.

Although it was stressed that in order the Government’s steps on deregulation were included in the Doing Business ranking of 2015, the reforms in this area should be conducted in the coming months.

"We will be very glad to help. We have many specialists who have considerable experience of such work in European countries," Qimiao Fan stressed.

He said that these reforms will affect not only on cheapening of doing business, but also will be a serious signal to the public that Ukraine is ready to the changes.
