OREANDA-NEWS. Blagoveshchensk Valves Plant (BVP OJSC, based in Blagoveshchensk, the Republic of Bashkortostan, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC) has begun a fundamental reconstruction of its IT infrastructure.

Projects totaling 37 million rubles in investments are underway at the plant. Fiber-optic lines and structured cable systems will be installed, and the data processing center will be modernized.

The main element of the upgraded infrastructure is the data processing center. It will provide continuous operation of the most important applications, and will replace the existing server cluster. The innovative technology will make it possible to manage the operational processes more efficiently, to introduce a modern document turnover, and to increase the data exchange reliability.

The second most important element in the infrastructure is the new fiber optic line. It will provide a fast and continuous operation of the IT systems. The line will be built with a view to meet the plant's growing needs. In the long term, there are plans to connect new buildings and allocate separate lines for critical services such as access control and access recording, and a security and fire alarm service.

“The modernization of the IT structure will facilitate the management process, will reduce the time and expenses for introducing new IT solutions, and will enhance their safety. There is no doubt that all of this will have a positive effect on the ever improving service quality for the partners of Blagoveshchensk Valves Plant,” said Marat Zainullin, head of the OMK's IT center in Blagoveshchensk.
