OREANDA-NEWS. Vnesheconombank and LLC Freight Village North signed a credit agreement on extending 3.7 billion rubles.

Under the agreement credit facilities are to be used to fund the creation of an integrated transport-logistics complex in the format of Freight Village in the Kaluga region on the territory of Vorsino and Rosva industrial parks.

This project was presented as part of the Central Federal District's First Transport-Logistics Congress TransCargo in the city of Kaluga (March 27-28).

The basic concept for developing the complex whose total value is 4.7 billion rubles provides for creating an advanced logistics center not only for container cargo handling but also for providing quality storage, customs, forwarding and insurance services. The complex's planned container handling capacity will amount to 300 000 TEU.

The Freight Village concept was developed with the assistance of Germany's Association of Freight Villages (DGG - Deutschen GVZ-Gesellschaft, Bremen, Germany).

In the parties' opinion the project's implementation would help to redistribute freight flows of the Moscow transport hub, form an advanced transit hub in the East-West Transport Corridor and improve the Kaluga region's investment appeal.

Removing economic growth infrastructure restrictions through developing transport infrastructure is one of VEB's activity sectoral priorities under Vnesheconombank's Memorandum on Financial Policies.
