OREANDA-NEWS. NTT DATA Corporation and NTT DATA Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. have, through their collaboration, driven R&D activities to come up with solutions suitable for the global market and to develop new technologies. Today, we are happy to announce that in order to promote our R&D activities further in the Asia Pacific region where continuous growth is expected, we have established NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Singapore as key R&D location for the region and to pursue smart community related research in Indonesia, we have launched NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Bandung. We aim to scale up to a total of 40 people across both laboratories by 2017.

NTT DATA is driving R&D activities not only for mature technologies like system integration that we have deep and proven experience in, but also for emerging technologies like Data Analytics and advanced technologies such as M2M.

In order to proactively apply those R&D technologies across all markets globally, it is necessary to aggregate the unique strengths and experience from various advanced research institutions as well as our group companies across the globe, towards developing market competitive solutions and technologies that match the demands of diverse markets. Such a business need is already coming to light in the Asia Pacific region where the economies are growing at a fast pace while at the same time new socio-cultural aspects of technology application are being revealed.

In order to further encourage business development in the Asia Pacific, NTT DATA has founded NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Singapore as a key R&D location for the region. NTT DATA Asia Pacific is playing a central role in developing NTT DATA Group's business footprint across the Asia Pacific region and is now also responsible for NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Singapore.

The laboratory will formulate and drive technology strategy that matches Asia Pacific's regionally diverse needs as well as NTT DATA's regional business strategy. Through collaboration with our Group companies in the region, the laboratory would:
* Help drive the expansion of matured technologies like system integration
* Conduct research based on local customers' needs.
* Develop solutions that are best suited to the local market in Singapore as well as other relevant markets across the Asia Pacific region.

NTT DATA will enhance its relationship with government organizations and advanced research institutes in the region to drive pilot projects for technologies like Big Data and Business Analytics, and the knowledge obtained through this process will be used further to develop new cutting-edge technologies that are market competitive.

As NTT DATA embarks on a new chapter in its R&D journey, we are delighted to have the strong and continued support of Singapore Economic Development Board. Our collaboration with Singapore Economic Development Board continues to align our R&D efforts closely with themes that are highly relevant for Singapore, which would also have the potential to apply regionally as well as globally.

Singapore Economic Development Board and NTT DATA have identified multiple areas of mutual interest in both traditional as well as emerging technologies like M2M and Data Analytics, and are also driven to the successful application of the technology research to industry sectors like Public Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Financial Services.
