OREANDA-NEWS. The 374 collective farms still remaining in Belarus will be transformed into joint stock companies or unitary enterprises by 2016 in accordance with President Lukashenko's latest ordinance, Belarus' Minister of Agriculture Leonid Zayats told reporters on March 21.

Collective farms, commonly referred to as “kolkhoz”, have become extinct on the post-Soviet territory. In order to eliminate discrepancies with the economic environment and the tax legislation, Belarus will reform its collective farms by 2016, the minister explained.
