OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus insists on sustaining the level of support for farmers in the Single Economic Space at 10%.

Roman Brodov, Head of the Belarusian Economy Ministry's Central Office for Foreign Economic Policy, made a statement to this effect.

Some members of the Single Economic Space, which embraces Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, feel their pressure of WTO commitments and suggest reducing the level of government support in the sector of agricultural production, Brodov told a briefing in Minsk on Friday.

In the meantime, Belarus insists the current provisions on government support for farmers should be sustained, Brodov said.
